Lanvin unveils 1916 film of founder

5 May

Lanvin has released exclusive footage dating back to 1916 of founder Jeanne Lanvin with her younger sister Marie-Alix and her daughter Marguerite.

The recently-discovered film sequence is set at the late designer’s house in Le Vésinet, a popular retreat at the time outside of Paris. In it the trio are seen walking through the extensive springtime gardens.

“We see another side to Jeanne Lanvin—a smiling woman and a loving mother to her daughter. A brief, tender moment of togetherness, far from the bustling Faubourg Saint Honoré,” reads the accompanying text.
